Earthworks contractor Karl D'Haene saves time with a temporary weighbridge & Kiloweb

Less administration and greater ease of use for drivers on site

At earthworks contractor D'Haene, smooth site operations are key. Weighing raw materials and equipment plays a crucial role in this process. D'Haene's main priority was simplifying the administration surrounding these weighings without adding extra tasks on site.

The challenge

The challenge was clear — a temporary weighing solution that:

  • simplifies administration,
  • limits staffing requirements,
  • saves drivers time.

The solution

RDS worked closely with D'Haene to analyze the weighing workflow on site and determine the ideal solution. Based on D'Haene's specific needs and preferences, a temporary rental weighbridge—the Modudel—was supplied along with an accompanying control terminal. The terminal was fitted with a touchscreen and connected to Kiloweb, enabling weighings to be processed and tracked efficiently.

The design of the control terminal is tailored to the site workflow and the customer's preferences.

Depending on the application, RDS can integrate various features, such as ANPR camera technology and barrier control. This ensures the weighing solution is tailored to the customer's specific site operations. For D'Haene, this resulted in a temporary solution where the weighbridge, control terminal, and Kiloweb work together as a single integrated system.

The principle is simple: technology should adapt to the site, not the other way around. One solution that makes work easier. The combination of the temporary rental weighbridge, the control terminal, and Kiloweb ensures that weighings are processed digitally while enabling drivers to carry out their work as smoothly as possible
Less administration on site

By connecting the rental weighbridge to Kiloweb, weighings are digitally registered. The data is then available for administrative tracking, eliminating a significant amount of manual work. For D'Haene, this mainly means that the administration surrounding weighings becomes much simpler. Less data needs to be collected and processed afterward, and tracking becomes far more transparent.

The time previously spent on administration can now be used more efficiently.
No permanent operator needed at the weighbridge

D’Haene opted for a touchscreen control terminal, making operation simple and intuitive.

However, the biggest advantage goes beyond the technology itself. Thanks to the way the solution is configured, D’Haene does not need to station anyone at the weighbridge.

Weighings can take place autonomously without requiring continuous staffing. This leads to far more efficient manpower allocation on site.

Drivers save time

The solution was not viewed solely from an administrative perspective. The combination also offers a major advantage for drivers on site. A driver arriving at the weighbridge with a loaded truck does not need to step out of the cab to handle the weighing process. On a busy site, this provides not only ease of use but also significant time savings.

For D’Haene, this represents a double win: no dedicated staff member required at the weighbridge, and drivers who never have to leave their trucks.

The result

For earthworks contractor D'Haene, the solution is about much more than just weighing. It is primarily about simplifying daily operations. The weighbridge ensures accurate weight registration, the control terminal enables efficient operation on site, and Kiloweb makes the data digitally accessible for the administration—all while drivers carry out their work without having to step out of their trucks every time.

With RDS's temporary rental weighbridge, the accompanying control terminal, and the connection to Kiloweb, D'Haene has a solution perfectly aligned with its site operations.

  • Less administration
  • No permanent operator needed at the weighbridge
  • Greater ease of use and time savings for drivers

A great example of how a temporary weighing solution not only guarantees accurate weighings, but also simplifies daily work on site.
